Good morning everyone I thought I would get a post up first thing since I didn't get to postint much yesterday. My headache got the best of me and is still lingering around today. Bummer because Dennis and I are going shopping when he gets home from work. Time to get some of the things we are out of back in the house.
At least from this month of not having much income we saw where we needed to stock up on certain items a bit more to make it through a hump. Marksville didn't go hungry as you can see from my posts, but there were things the family would have liked to have that we couldn't because we were out of the items to make them.
Other then that I am just waiting for Samantha to get home with her car so that I can get my coupons together and she can care for Lilly. Lilly had a rough night, she had a runny nose and a bit of a fever but it now watching Elmo which she requested. I am at 965 points no where near that 1000 but we have today to work on it all over again.
I am going to get my helping posts up while working on my swag bucks, then onto other things while waiting for either Dennis or Samantha to get home. Hope you all have a great weekend ahead.
What day do you usually go shopping on?

so sorry to here that you and lilly are not up to par....sending thoughts and prayers to you both
hope you get your shopping done
i usually do our big grocery shopping trip on mon. or tues., right after an early lunch....the stores are usually less crowded then.......
aside from that, i often have to run to the store for odds and ends at least once a week----but it is a quickie, for a few thngs....
have a good day
blessings
I like to go grocery shopping on Tuesdays, because usually it is a lot less busier.
I try to shop when I have money to pay for it, and on warm and dry days. (Because I have a motorcycle.)
but it is still better than being on the buss.
Now it makes sense, your one bikers foxy ol lady 4 sure!
1) We're out of something we really need.
2) I got a big major points coupon from Shoppers Drug Mart for a certain day, awarding me 15,000 additional points or something, in which case I'll do the next month's shopping ahead of times, so that I can get the points.
I get enough of those points that atleast twice a year I get $170 in free groceries. I have one round of freebies lined up, and once the currant points coupon registers I'll have $170 x 2. I'm probably going to spend one round next month since my trip to NYC is going to be expensive, and another round in July, since our trip to Ottawa is going to be expensive.
Generally, we spend about $300-350 for the two of us. We buy a lot of fresh, local, organic fruits and veggies. We buy many non-perishables in bulk. We buy fresh bread every few days from the bakery. We also buy some bakery treats.
If I needed to decrease the amount we spend on food, I could easily do so; it would simply be a matter of changing a few things. For instance, I could serve vegetarian chili more frequently instead of another dish. If we added a child or two to the family, our grocery expenditures really would not increase all that much--at most, $50 per child per month--due to how I shop and how I cook.
