Boobear doin the happy dance a few days ago, it was sunny and she loves to lay in the sunshine on the porch. I think she'd love it if I let her roam free, but that ain't gonna happen.

How adorable! You know, our cat, Furball, never lays like that......maybe it's cuz she's an "old woman," I don't know.......she just lays around, very lazy like, and always with her ears far, far back....like she's mad at the world! Guess "old age" can do that.......LOL!!!!!!!

How funny, well each kritter has his/her personality, Boobear is 6 years old and if she gets to lay in the sun she'll roll around as much as possible. I was lucky I was able to get this shot, she was rolling around at the time.

I have a small enclosed porch in back and I let her out there if its warm enough, trouble is birds, mice and lizards seem to find a way in, so I have to be careful, she's already caught 2 birds that got in and 1 lizard. Lucky for me the slats in the floor are small and the birds get in because the stupid builder put corigated steel across the top as a roof so he used stirofoam to plug the ushaped slots but the birds just push them out ... I'm still working on a solution for that, I'm just glad she's too big to get through any of that.

You just can't 'spoil' the hunter out of a cat, I guess. Maybe some of that expanding foam would solve the problem for you. They couldn't push that out.

Oh kool, is there a brand name for it? I wasn't aware they'd have anything like that. That would solve some of my problems, I'm hoping to find some kind of screen to place on the floor so the cetepedes, lizards, mice and things don't get in either. Thanks for letting me know about that, I'm checking to see if its in Walmart.com.

I don't know if Walmart carries it, but Lowe's or Home Depot would. I don't know a specific brand name, I just know it's used to fill cracks and things. It's really cool stuff. Be warned, you willbe tempted to play with it! It's really neat how it expands!

Boobear isn't really outside, my porch is enclosed with screen but at least she has that as an outdoor area when the weather is nice.

I also have a screen room and we are out there almost every day. They are able to smell the outdoors and still be safe.

I've often wondered about cats being in the house all of the time. I mean it seems like it's something most people have to do. But is it healthy? But you know I read on freekibble.com that cats sleep 20 hours a day. Considering that, it probably doesn't matter, huh? I had a neighbor who walked her cat on a leash. I had never seen that before. And the cat didn't mind!

I think most mammals need a certain amount of fresh air and sunshine, which I provide on the enclosed screened porch. As for allowing a cat to roam free, thats a bad idea as they are not natives here and could easily destroy the eco system we have, after all look what happened to the DoDo birds after pirates introduced the dog to their island.

My cat, Storm, loves to lay on the windowsill in the front window that gets the sun each day - and people love to "play" with him through the window. One day, UPS knocked - took me a minute or so to get to the door - when I got there, I didn't see the guy til I looked round the door - t here he was, at the front window on the porch, "playing" with Storm...lol.

Rook will go there occasionally but he's not a "people" cat so will run if someone comes on the porch...and growl.
